Cassidy Athletics was hired to create a community gathering place where members of a retirement facility had an opportunity to interact with each other on a daily basis, create new relationships, and harbor a friendly, competitive environment.
We curated a bocce league with 8 teams that met once a week, which included 1-on-1 training on how to create a schedule, standings and a weekly newsletter.
Throughout the season, residents had a chance to get to know their fellow bocce enthusiasts in the community, competing in a social game and creating new relationships that followed them from the courts to the dining room and beyond.
Since Cassidy Athletics introduced + implemented bocce into the community, residents have been playing year-round. They have since expanded their level of activity to daily trainings, monthly tournaments and inviting their friends, family and external community to participate in their new-found love of Bocce.
It all started with a croquet surface that was turned into a temporary bocce area in 2018.
Two years later, we worked with Daniel Colleoni to create a bocce center with two Olympic sized bocce courts.
